Hello all. Not sure if this is the best ‘first’ post, but it’s something I’ve been putting off for far too long. So hopefully when I look back on today, I am not too disappointed.
I’ve been quietly and patiently awaiting this decision for a long time. I am quite fortunate to have Maria in my life, without her strong support I’m not too sure I would be following through with this. ‘This’ being moving/traveling/vagabonding in Italy/Europe.
I’ve spent the past few weeks wasting my time reading books, blogs and travel sites, going through lists, checking websites for things to bring and watching movies/documentaries on the world travel. Having just finished A Map for Saturdays and then following up on reading Brook’s blog (the man behind the movie), I finally got the ambition to begin the blogging process. This is a little embarrassing to admit, but I actually registered the domain name over a year ago, and set up the blogging software over a month ago, and NOW I’ve started writing. How wonderful a procrastinator’s life can be.
But back to A Map for Saturdays for a minute. A wonderful movie, highly recommended. Not exactly aimed at what my plans are, but still truly captures the mystique and grandeur of solo long term travel. I can’t put my finger on if I was affected by this movie because of what my (potential) future holds for me, or if the movie was just really well done. So much, that a few drops of this strange liquid might have emerged from my eye region. Think I might go see a doctor to see if everything is ok. If you do decide to watch this movie, make sure you watch the cast updates and deleted scenes. One of the rare times I would actually recommend this.
Now I’m sure you’re all wondering (all! As if there is anybody else reading this besides me, ha!) what exactly I’m planning. Well it’s quite a long story so you might only get a piece of it, but I will make my best attempt at explaining it.

Holy crap! The idea has come to fruition. I didn’t think you had the balls. Can’t wait to witness this adventure.
